Applied Materials
Nanoball

GAME DEVELOPMENT

Nanoball is a virtual pinball game we built for the extravagant Applied Materials booth at the recent Semicon West convention. 6 Nanoball game stations were custom-made, holding 32" monitors with buttons mounted on the sides as flipper controls. The game stations were arranged in a circle at the core of the booth. Their displays were projected onto 20' sails that encircled the spacious booth and stretched from floor to exhibit hall ceiling.

In partnership with ZeroG Games, we developed Nanoball in just 4 weeks. It featured 3D animation, realistic pinball gameplay and allowed participants to compete for the high score of the day. Each game displayed a unique set of client-focused trivia that reinforced the Applied Materials brand and created opportunities for discussion between booth staff and customers.

Nanoball was created to foster an inviting atmosphere in the Applied Materials booth. After seeing the enthusiastic response to the game, Applied Materials immediately licensed Nanoball for use at worldwide conventions and requested a version of the game for their website.
